How can I start Affiliate marketing with no initial capital?

Hi all,

I really want to get into the affiliate game but have no money to start with, so I cannot use AdWords, etc.

If I made a blog or site to promote a product, how do I get traffic for free?

Any other tips, ideas, even beginner guides?

[Also a while ago I found a program where you typed in a keyword, e.g. "baby food" and it brought up a huge list of Wordpress blogs on that topic, you could even pick the pageranks it brought up, and then you could leave a comment on them with your URL to promote yourself... I have lost the link, does anyone happen to know what the program was called/where I can get it again? Doh ]

You can use squidoo or hubpages to publish articles, just like you would have done on your own blog. You can also apply for adnetworks like adsense on them, or promote links from clickbank or similar websites. The only drawback is that these websites will take a % commission of your earnings

 

I agree! Squidoo is a great resource as Google loves them! Just make your lens non spammy and you can rank in no time for your targeted keyword.

 

I am quite curious to know what program you were referring to. If you don't have enough money to spend to start in affiliate marketing then you can be a freelancer first. Invest what you will earn for domain and hosting fees. Investment needed in affiliate marketing is minimal unless you want to outsource the promotions.

While freelancing you can try learning more about affiliate marketing.

Well according to me for affiliate marketing, your basic need will be to develop a website and to promote the website at different places through online marketing and for this, you have to invest some capital in the market.

 

Try twitter, build followers.

You can do this by following a high authority in your niche, then send them a message like @highauthority loved your "blogpost" really helpful <link to it> then start to follow their followers, not only will that catch the authorities attention but their followers as well.

Try TweetAdder great tool for following people.

Social media can bring you instant traffic.

sorry, but I think you're not ready for the game! the number one traffic source until this time is via search engine optimization. and you won't likely win SEO stuff if you don't want to spend a single dime.

 

you can use forum marketing, just like how we have links on the bottom of our posts. thats free traffic plus its targeted. you could link it to a website. you can get .tk 's for free . make a squeeze page with a plr or a bonus you already have and u can build a list. you can use click2sale.eu

that have products on their marketplace like clickbank plus it has a build in list manager like awaber but for FREE. and u can have affiliates. Make a squeeze page , let them sign for something free, also have a paid product that complements the free thing. you have a chance at making a sale + building list at the same time with squeeze page before u even had to blast them. then invest the money into Directory of ezines and get more traffic from their. also use craigslist.

 

Social networking sites are the best options to increase the traffic of your site. Well I would like to suggest you some of the sources for good results. Twitter, Facebook and multiply are undoubtedly, some of the effective sources to attract people towards the site.

 

I have a bunch of squidoo and hubpage pages and none of them earn as well as my product review sites. Your best bet is like @endless rain said to go do some freelancing work quick to get enough to buy a domain and build a site. If you can't invest at least the $10 or so that you need to get started then you're really not ready to be successful with affiliate marketing. It's not a business that you can get going in for free unless you want to spend huge amounts of time and many months waiting for your first sale. Also, when you do promote products on free sites your best bet from what I've found is to promote cheap items.

 

Yeah, tough without investments. I built my first affiliate site 2 months ago and until now only got 3 sales and $55. But it's still good, since I have only spent maybe 4-5 hours promoting the blog. Depends on what you sell and where you sell it and how many friends you have. Start building your social network, you can later use them for any other business as well, not just affiliate marketing.

Other than paying for hosting, I built my first website myself and started learning about SEO right away. It didn't happen overnight, but I slowly learned how to improve my site, build my rankings and earn a decent income from the Internet. These days, affiliate marketing is my full-time job and I have several people working for me -- with close to a dozen websites in various niches.

There's no "magic" strategy that will allow you to make a big, consistent income online. You'll need to do lots of research, participate in forums like these, learn various techniques, test new strategies, etc. And because the internet is always changing, you'll have to stay on-top of what's going on with Google and other search engines. It's a constant challenge to stay ahead of the game -- and your competition.

The first things you'll need to do:

- Figure out how to develop a website. You can start with a Wordpress blog or something simple, but you'll need to continue to learn so you can improve and grow your website.
- Learn about the basics of SEO and start incorporating those techniques and strategies.
- Take a close look at social media and figure out how you can use it to your advantage.
- As with all marketing strategies, some work better than others -- depending on the niche. So try various things (ie: social media, blog posting, email lists, banner ads, forums, adwords, etc.)

Anyways... hopefully that will help point you in the right direction. Just keep in mind, it won't happen overnight! You need to be patient and keep working hard
