Im trying to rank for keywords that are hard to put into a sentence and keep it looking natural.
How can i separate the words with out them being separate in googles eyes
    an example would be:

    "Hotel Amsterdam"

    could i use a vertical bar "|" , a "&" , or a comma ","

    "Book Hotel & Amsterdam Accommodation"
    "Hotel | Amsterdam"
    "Hotel, Amsterdam"

    Any Suggestions?
are the any other symbols i could use ?

I am interested in the content but
shouldn't it apply in all those areas ?

A hyphen in a domain is a space so i would asume the same applies for the title, meta, and content, right?

I think I get you nowwell I don't believe there is a need to use bar "|" or "-" or "&" in your content in order for Google to notice a given keyword, Google sees all words and words combination in your page regardless of spaces or "-" etc. just use space that will do the trick (and also not look spammy) BUT you must remember that in order for you to rank for a specific keyword then your content must contain between 2%-4% of that given keyword so let's say you want to rank for the term "Hotel Amsterdam" (you must conduct the proper keyword research BEFORE you decide what keyword to pursuit) then you need the phrase to be at least 2% of your text also you should use the keyword in the beginning of a h1 tag in your text maybe also use bold etc.and don't forget backlinks, most important in my opinion.

the phrase i need has the highest exact searches but
its hard to put the phrase "hotel amsterdam" in a sentence and make it sound natural. So i want to split the sentence between "hotel amsterdam"

    like :

"bla bla bla .....nice hotel & amsterdam sight seeing ...... bla bla bla....."

    or

    in a h1

    "Book a Hotel | Amsterdam Online "

will this still count as a exact match for "hotel amsterdam" ?

In the META page title you can put

Hotel Amsterdam, Great Prices on Amsterdam Hotels

The H1 you can put 'Hotels in Amsterdam'

In the site content you don't need to put 'hotel amsterdam'.. just use both words often in decently put paragraphs..

Then get a lot of backlinks to the site using the phrase 'Hotel Amsterdam'

    Simple ;-)

So , your saying that the keywords can be randomly thrown into the content (except for in the title and h1)and dont have to appear as they do in the exact search results ?

Yes this is fine, but as I say, you can also make up for it by using that exact phrase on your off-site SEO.. links etc...
