    HI,

I am seeing 404 (Not found) in the Google Webmaster tools for my website. The pages its showing 404 is because I have given the wrong URL and google is trying to fetch the links. It results in 404. Now I want to remove the 404 error. How can i do that?

If the pages actually are 404 not founds, google will eventually remove them. You can assist them a bit by using the "Remove URLs" link under "Tools" in the google webmaster tools. It will take a few weeks for them to be removed.

If the URLs have any links to them, use a 301 redirect to point the incorrect URLs over to the correct URLs. This will allow you to take advantage of any link juice currently flowing to the 404s. It will also help with Googlebot indexing your site, as it will follow the 301s and not arrive at any 404 dead ends.
