Update your site map, use a customized robots.txt, or directly ask Google to remove the page.

You can request urls to be removed using google's webmaster tools. You need a gmail account.

Use robots.txt file and disallow that particular URL in it and save that file in root of your site

When I googled a domain I had bought I noted:

Apparently the previous owner had been promoting quick money plans and one of its email was published by www.mail-archive.com.

I had written to www.mail-archive.com many times but they were not responding.

How to ask the SEs to remove a link? Thanks.

P.S. Now I googled, yahooed, msned, cuiled before I buy a domain.

use google webmaster to remove any particular URL u want. You will get Remove URL option in TOOL menu of web master. you have to request for remove url and it will be deleted from google index. THAT's IT, Buddy

Well there is a place in the google webmasters area where you can actually request to remove your site from the google index. Then google will probably remove your site from their index after a few days. I have never tried it though because noone would want their site removed from the google index.

I refer to my earlier post.

I had asked around and noted that it is not a simple process.

You cant remove a site from google listings unless otherwise they (google) decided to remove it.

But you can make the search engines not to list those pages in search results by just adding a "nofollow" tag to your html document.

    hi dude,

upgrade yourself, you can remove site from Google index anytime, with help of robots.txt and to correct you, you should use "NOINDEX" not "NOFOLLOW"
