How can I register .us domain if I not live in USA ?

Hi,

I need register one .us domain but I don´t live in USA. How can I do this ?

Just go to a domain registrar website. Search for your .US doamin, if this is available buy it. Simple!

 

everyone can regist .us domains, you can go to godaddy.com or dynadot.com , they offer .us domain name.

Registrants in the usTLD must be either:

1.A natural person (i) who is a United States citizen, (ii) who is a permanent resident of the United States of America or any of its possessions or territories, or (iii) whose primary place of domicile is in the United States of America or any of its possessions,

2.A United States entity or organization that is (i) incorporated within one of the fifty (50) U.S. states, the District of Columbia, or any of the United States possessions or territories, or (ii) organized or otherwise constituted under the laws of a state of the United States of America, the District of Columbia or any of its possessions or territories (including a federal, state, or local government of the United States or a political subdivision thereof, and non-commercial organizations based in the United States), or

3.A foreign entity or organization that has a bona fide presence in the United States of America or any of its possessions or territories.

 

HiAny body can not register .us domain you have to be US citizen. Also you can not put domain privacy service on a .us domain name.

 

There are many such places. I use godaddy but others prefer hostgator. Either way i find using one that has 24/7 live support is the best in case you encounter an issue

 

Anyone can reg a .us name if they want to. The only thing is that officially you need to be in the US to own one.

I live in Belgium and never had a problem to register a us domain . I use http://namecheap.com as a registrar

 

You can lose your domain if you don't fit one of the requirements that were pasted in an earlier reply.

 

i register .us and host in hostgator..i have change nameserver and try install wp..but why not come??if i visit my domain name its whitescreen??and write index of/ ?? if i try to /wp-admin/ comes like this :

You need to be in the US to register a .us domain. If the ICANN finds out that your registrant information does not contain you being resident of USA, they may cancel the domain. However, you may continue to use the domain until they found it, and its very rare that they actually find that out unless they've added a script which checks your registrant information with your present being in the US or not. I remember that sometimes in such conditions they don't allow you to register at the first place unless your address is from the US. Right ?

but to make it safe, better put fake US registrant name & address

 

If the domain is available then you can easily get it.
