Hi, I have a site www.nurse-training-info.com and I want to bring it higher in google and other search engines for "nurse training" keyword. Any ideas how to do that? One SEO expert told me that you should get links from authority directories. I contacted business.com (an authority directory) but they refused to take my site link. What could be the reason? They said it doesnt meet their editorial guidelines. Where can I find more links for this site which can help increase my ranking for this keyword? Any help would be appreciated.

Just follow on general SEO tips that usually work for all search engines. Titles, Keywords, words in meta tags, create attractive and useful pages and Google will be there. Here is a good article at www.monetizers.com/rank-high-on-google.php
1. Your domain is unprofessional ...double and more hyphen domains are typically an indication of someone trying to rank well for a keyword term and often are not a real business. (Google will also not be in a rush to place you near the top even if your site was very well optimized due the domain) 2. Your website is simply words on pages....its terrible looking very unprofessional instills no confidence. 3. I am surprised an accredited college... if they are... would accept what you have put together as a marketing effort, as in my eyes you diminish the brand rather than enhance it. probably not what you wanted to see, but I deal in honesty and business building, so my answers are never what people want to hear or read, but rather what they need to read. Good luck!!
Not always, though) Sometimes it's the only way to get a domain name easy to remember, if the short ones are already unavailable) Still, agree - it depends.
Get lots of backlinks with this keyword "nurse training" in anchor text. You can get back links via article submission.
I have to agree with Sem-Advance, the number one thing you want to do is improve the quality of your site. Make sure it is as professional looking and credible as possible. By building trust in your site, it will automatically get links from sites who find your information and want to link to it because of the credibility it provides. With all that said, like everyone said you need some good h1 tags (neatly done) and some backlinks with "nurse training" as the anchor text, also i would simply make your title tag Nurse Training. Good luck
the easiest way is to compile some good resources on nurse training prepare a big sort of almanac on the topic. Publish all this info on a squidoo lens and do not forget to have your site's link there too. This way you will create a good read on the topic and the keyword nurse training in particular which will allow you to aim the highest SERPs for the phrase and eventually give more exposure to your site.
I suggest using LSI for your articles. They are suppose to be better than mere keyword rich articles as far as search engines are concerned. Check it here. Hope it helps
LSI is the natural language processing. Therefore it is impossible to implement into writing an article, unless the writer is a computer that understand natural language processing and can reverse that process to instead write In case you don't know the definition it is Latent Semantic Indexing..... also known as LSA Latent semantic analysis (LSA) is a technique in natural lanuage processing ,in particular in vectoral semantics, of analyzing relationships between a set of documents and the terms they contain by producing a set of concepts related to the documents and terms. I do not know what you posted or what you are referring to, but whatever it is.... it is misguided information that can only lead to confuse people further. Please research what you post before posting....... And you dropped a link to a clickbank product???????
Hi Sem Thanks for your comment but if I may add..so as not to confuse anyone, wasn't my intention at all..just sharing..as a content writer and based on my research, some savvy webmasters have begun to implement LSI techniques into an article..I am a ghostwriter for a PLR company that actually trained us on how to use a combo of keywords to gain better rankings in the search engines. They are based on LSI technology and as far as I am aware this is the best way to write articles for your site instead of using single keywords alone. Nah that's not a clickbank link..clickbank uses hops darlin' so it shoud be hop=xxx..I was trying to show madhav the way to use LSI in articles. We use more sophisticated and expensive software for our work but my boss will kill me if I drop the name here..that is one better alternative or at least explains the point I am trying to explain. ..at least that's what I believe. Thanks anyway Sem, for your kind attention. BTW how do I move the link to my siggy..
Indexing means document reading basically...so trying to implement the way a machine reads a document into how an article is written is doublespeak at best as well as a huge dose of marketing hype aimed at webmasters without a clue (99%) The line about the Google LSI Keyword lists should be sent to the bullshitters hall of fame ............ Given nobody but the machine is doing the analysis, it would be impossible to know what the machine reads, finds, or how it scores... in order to implement it into writing. Also the site you send people to is about long tail keywords and offers nothing in the shape of educating anyone on LSI. Damn youre right....considering I just got my Clickbank check in the mail you would think I would not have made that mistake. However you did drop an affiliate link h ttp://ww w.longtailarticles.com/?e=cerdasmindmarketing@yahoo.com I won't give you another link hehehe but you should not drop your affiliate links in threads or some mean op might give you the banned badge to wear. No problem with the attention I have plenty of it to give...... You can edit your sig by looking under the breadcrumb nav at the top of each thread for 'User CP' Click that link and in the left hand column of the page that is returned you will see the link 'Edit Signature' Peace!
Spot on! Thinking of SEO at this point is getting way ahead of yourself, spending effort on ranking that domain is really wasted effort. Even if you achieve a #1 placement for your primary keyphrase your bounce rate will be off the scale. Business.com knocked it back, and most likely even free directories will if the webmaster pays any attention to submissions. You need to go back to the design/development and produce a website people will "want" to visit, and then move on to ways of increasing your rankings as the job will be much easier.
if you want to grow higher in any search engine for a specified keyword then try to build quality back links for that keyword for your site and also write some good quality content for that keywords on other content related sites
Agree 100% Why is it that everyone who thinks Google uses LSI doesn't have a clue what LSI actually is? - Michael
