Have you added your site in http://www.google.com/addurl/ After adding it you have to wait(sometimes) to get indexed by Google To check whether your site has been indexed use site:www.yoursite.com in Google search box..
It will be there but for a short time. Since google will have million of such request. It will show the most clicked site request first. Moreover its result refreshes quite fast(Every 1 and a half hour).
Just get links from other sites already indexed in google, preferrably from established sites and google will crawl your site and index it automatically. Submitting doesn't hurt, but without links pointing to your site, you won't have alot of success getting it fully indexed.
Don't waste your time submitting URLs to Google. A few backlinks will do the job much faster. You can use the social bookmarking networks for easy and fast backlinks to your site
If you cant get your website lised using the google submit url, Then try to gain a few backlinks from high page rank baclinks and submit to a few directories and your site will get indexed very quickly!
yep.. I've put links in my forex signiture and the site appaeared on google within a day! didn't send any real traffic for 3 months tho!

Yes.. That is a good way to do it.. sign up to webmaster tools and add your site, then submit a sitemap, can just be a txt file (1 url per line) Then sign up to Google Analytics and put the code on all of your pages, and add a link in you sig, or do what others have mentioned and submit your site to a social network. Then keep adding Content. Cheers James
post on yahoo answers "why isnt anyone visiting my site?" with your link on it, and you'll get indexed
