fi you want your forum look good to visitor, hiring high quality forum posters may help. best ways are put your forums in signatures across many forums as much as possible to draw those forumers to yours. hope this help.

Its an incredibly competitive niche that will take great effort to make popular. There are far too many of these type of forums including the huge ones such as DP.
...more niche would be my suggestion..there are threads for example in dp that could actually be total forums..and then focused and better served and promoted..fyi
first of all, people does not like to join free forums . you must add some useful article at the beginning of your forum. after that you need to build as much as you can do. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=13 is a great place to start
