Q: How can I pass the PR4 glass sealing? I have no problem getting my sites indexed by the big 3 i spend a lot of time on ranking and back links but it seams that going above PR4 is close to impossible for me. What am I doing wrong? I know its quality back links but I don’t want to just get a PR7 links to pass over the top i want to do it the right way any input would be appreciated.
You will have to find a way to get links from PR6-8 sites. It's either that or get a whole lot of PR3 - 5 links. Try contacting some high PR sites in your niche and see if you can write an article for their website. You don't really need PR5 though. You just need enough quality backlinks to rank for your keywords. That is much more important.
I've done it with about 100 quality PR 4-5 links. I was going for SERPs and referral traffic not PR. The PR is simply a side benefit...as it lends credence to my site in some people's eyes.
I had an old website that stucked in the mud of pr4 just like you, no matter how hard I tried. Eventually, I gave up, do nothing. After the next two updates, Google gave it a pr5. That's roughly give you an idea how strange is the way google algo worked - It's not that more links is matter.
How is your rankings at Google? If those are in a satisfied level... why don't you just keep building links and let Google reveal your real PR when it wants. The PR we can see is not the up to date one. Google seems to be keeping an internal PR that keeps updating and that's what would really affect in your rankings. It will update external PR sources once in about 3 months... http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/more-info-on-pagerank/
