What options do I have? I can see large number of ads floating on Google but just can't rely on them. I want to hear your experience. Which is the best service available out there using which I can open a US bank account. (I am not a citizen of US) I don't mind spending $$ if service is good and reliable.
If you incorporated a company in the US or transfered one over then you could legally bank into a US bank account. http://www.google.com/search?q=open+a+us+bank+account+from+overseas
you may contact customer service of american bank directly. they will answer you if you are able to apply for account
But I'd think for personal bank accounts due to security that you'd need to be a US resident, I maybe wrong but it'd make sense.
Many US banks are in need of business. They will open a personal bank account for you provided you have a US address. You will need to do it in person though. If you have a friend in the US who will allow you to use thier address it can be done. If you are from one of the G8 countries, check with the banks in your country. Some offer a US based accounts.
You need to tell us what country you are from. This is because nationals of certain countries are not allowed to open US bank accounts. You can always open bank accounts with other countries, like in Switzerland for example. You get the bank to give you an ATM card which you can then use in your country of residence.
I think after around the 9/11 attacks, it's almost impossible to open a US bank account from outside the country. At least that's what I was told a few years ago. However as someone said, if you live in a G8 country (Japan in my case) you can open an account at a US branch. Examples of banks that'll let you do this: Citibank, HSBC.
