How can I move from 'related searches' to the main result?

** Apologies - just seen I've posted in wrong section. Did not mean to offend anyone***

    Hi

Hope the title makes some sort of sense . . .

I have a website where our brand name is given by google as 'related search' at the bottom of the first page of results for the term we actually want to rank for.

e.g. We want to rank top 10 for 'widgets' but instead we rank at number 30 for that term and are featured as a related search at the bottom of the main query as 'walters widgets' - (i love the widget scenario).

Now - my question is . . . how the hell do we move from a related search to the main search?

Anyone got any experience with this?

Any help is much appreciated :)

just recently related search is given more often by google. try to work out targeted keywords differently. and try to check targeted keywords in the territory you are interested in.

got really no idea of what you are talking about, but the way I understand it, your keyword is from the related search in the bottom part of search result page and you wanted to transfer it to the main result which composes of sites, right?

related searches are another set of searches which is also something like querying another terms.

main results are the sites you are looking for.

if I'm right, you wanted to be on the first page with your keyword, is that what you wanted to say?

    Hi Corlock

I guess that's what I'm trying to say. It appears that Google associates our company name with our target search term, because when you search on it (the search term), Google returns our company name as a 'related search' at the bottom of the results.

    Anyway . . . lol . . . lets leave it there . . . i'm confusing myself!!
