How can I modify Vbuletin pages?

I bought Vbuletin, and thought I can open templates with Front Page and modify them the way I want, but looks like it isn't what I thought.

    Thank you,
    SunLove

I dont thing you need to know a lot but depends what you are trying to do
every templet can be edited from the admin cp and you can revert with just a click so its pretty good.

vb is very customizable but the best thing to do would be look for mods and hacks if you can find one for what you are trying to do it will keep everything neat and clean

Yeah that is one of the wonders of vbulletin. It can be maintained by someone w/ out PHP knowledge, and the site design/template can be completely customized based on simple HTML in the control panel.

You need to know XHTML, not PHP. There are vB Conditionalz in templates that if you learn them, can be useful, but it's not necessary.

DW makes crap code IMO. But if you must, Ithink you can open a template, copy the code to DW and then edit it.

Is DW a software like Front Page, where I don't need coding knowledge?
    Thank you guys!

Opps, you said Frontpage and I said DW by mistake.

DW, dreamweaver, is like front page in that it is a webpage development app.

But yeah, I'm aware of people that use DW for editing vB templates. I often have to fix them however. :/

SunLove, you should hire somebody to do it if you don't know html and php, although you're better off learning the webmastering stuff by yourself. You haven't got the foggiest clue of code editing and programming language.

Anyway, you can get the code from admincp > templates, then use notepad or any better text editor to edit the code. When it's finished, copy it back to admincp and save. You're looking for a premade GUI editor, but sadly there's none.

SumLove my friend you dont need any software to edit the codes
you can do it in the browser itself and see the results instantly by refreshing the forum and if anything goes wrong just revert back there is an option

I know I can edit the code in a browser or word pad.
I was thinking of modifying it with a program with GUI, but brandnwx says there is none.
Noppid says "dreamweaver, is like front page in that it is a webpage development app."

I have to double check if "dreamweaver" uses GUI (like Front Page) so I can play with templates.

I put the code from the templates in Front Page, but that didn't work showed codes on the page.

    Thank you guys.

What do you normally fix? Do you fix the code because dreamweaver doesn't have a good code?
    Thanks,

When I edit my vbulletin pages I open the page I want to edit, open a blank dreamweaver document and paste all the code because it's easier to read all the code when it's in colour although I can use notepad .. I modify my code and paste it back.

It would be real nice if somebody makes a GUI program to modify the vbuletin styles for people who don't know XHTML.

Thank you all for your replies.

1.How much time it took you to learn the language (which I suppose is XHTML) to modify Vbuletin styles/templates etc.?
    2. Which books you advice me to read to learn that language?
    sunlove,
    thanks
