Hi everyone, I have a quick question. Let me start of by saying I have no experience in marketing. I would like to market / advertise my site www.wallze.com how would I do it? where do I start? Thank You
There are many ways to go about advertising your site such as blogging, article marketing, Pay Per Click, Classified ads and many more.
If you like to write at all, one of the easiest ways is to do some article marketing. Write a 500 word article having something to do with your site and submit it to article directories like ezinearticles.com or goarticles.com. Don't like to write? You can easily find writers to do it for you for reasonable prices.
I will tell you few things, 1. You can do advertising on such a forums like this one 2. On big websites like, Myspace, Facebook, Twitter...15-20 visits / day you will get more, I`m 100% sure 3. On MSN, Skype, ICQ, xFire and Instant Messagers like that, set in status your page and write something interesting, people will take a look.. and on the end 4. Then you can pay small prices for ads on other site which has 10 × more unique visits per day then you If you follow this introduction, you`ll do good job for your site...trust me
I would look into Search Engine Optimaztion. This is by far the best way to start marketing with your website as it is free and really simple in theory. By gaining more backlinks and updating your site content frequently you will raise in Search Engine results and get free traffic from Search Engines like Google and Yahoo.
SEO is the best way to market your website. Here's a good thread here about starting your SEO tactics: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=413544 I review that often as well!
Your website is only as good as the website visitors that are coming to visit it. So one of your main goals with a website is to market your website and get as many website visitors as you can. I thought it would be helpful to come up with a top 10 list of the best ways I have found to market my website. 1. Twitter- Twitter is a popular way to get traffic to your website. I think it's great for upcoming events or to get traffic to your blog. I've noticed a lot of traffic to my website from twitter as well, but they don't stay very long. So I'm thinking about directing traffic to my about me page, so we can start a conversation right away. So if you're thinking about starting a twitter account remember it's all about creating a relationship not just traffic to your website. 2. Facebook- Facebook is another great way to market your website, but I've found that not many people click on your website links from your profile. The best marketing on Facebook usually comes from special event invitations. Now this has just been my marketing experience with Facebook. But I have found Facebook friends to click on links through my status update. I just try not to always put links in my Facebook status, because I don't want to seem like a spammer. 3. Video- viral movies, instructional videos, and much more. Video is a great way to get people back to your website and increase your natural search engine optimization of your website. 4. Teleseminars- Free teleseminars and webinars are great ways to market your website. I personally use the service Free Conference Call Pro and I have been very happy with it. This is a great way to get started doing public speaking if you're not quite ready to speak in person yet. 5. Article Marketing- Write articles in your field of expertise and make sure to place a link back to your website at the bottom of your article. Ezine Articles is the best resource out there for article marketing. But there are literally thousands of websites you can submit your articles to. 6. Search Engine Optimization- This can take several months to see results, but when you do it's amazing. I'm ranking #6 for "website solutions" on google which is a very competitive keyword term. One of my clients, an eye doctor, has seen amazing success because we optimized his site for the city and eye doctor. So anyone searching for an eye doctor will find his business first. People are using google instead of the yellow pages to find businesses now. Thanks.
There was a lot of good information in this thread for a newbie like me, who has no experience marketing. Google is valued more than Yellow Pages? Are they comparable in price?
My, my, where to start: Article Marketing Forum Marketing Social Bookmarking/Social Media Youtube SEO optimization Press Releases RSS Word of Mouth Business cards on ATM's (this is a fun one!) PPC or other paid traffic. And the list goes on and on..... Think of the number of ways you can tell people about your site/product.
I would go with the article marketing technique mentioned a few posts up. Write 3 or 4 good articles. 3 links per article, submit to all to 10 article sites = 120 links + traffic. The biggest thing you need to realise with promoting a website is that it requires constant dedication and time.
