    - yes it is leagal to open your own payment gatway
    - no need of country registry need to register to bank
    - if you want to add it bank accounts you have take permission of country bank like RBI in india
    - and you have to take support of other bank like xoom takes support of punjab national bank in india

This is a joke, right? :)

You bet systems like Paypal cost millions in investments to develop to Paypal's current stage, and mean hundreds of employees to offer you the service, yet you wish to achieve something similar, if possible, using an open source script, because you hate Paypal's fees? Give it a try, mate. Best thing to do is buy Paypal and lower the fees for us all.

I don't mean to sound mean..but SCRIPT? you really think it's as simple as uploading a script, configuring and voila?

There are tons of hurdles to jump over because payment processing involves money, lots of money and it travels around the world, not that easy to set up.

this topic made me laugh. the thought of having some script that can act as a secure payment processor .... its just laughable.

Unless you have millions to spend on investment, you will never have something to rival paypal ... the fact youre complaining about paypal fee's shows you dont have millions.

Also the fact you're even asking on a website like digitalpoint shows us all you will never amount to anything in this area, a serious person wouldnt need to ask publically.

You must be referring to an on-site payment processing form that would take credit card payments through. Indeed, for that you need to be looking for a online merchant account, plus a few other things, including a form script, and an SSL certificate. That won't be anywhere close to Paypal in terms of concept though. It won't be fee-free either.

I agree with everyone else. You know Paypal is owned by ebay? You know how big of a company ebay is??? Sorry to ruin your dreams, but it isn't going to work...

Well, since its not worldwide you may be able to do it, but it takes a lot of effort, getting every bank to accept you, getting registered by your country, etc. I would advise ignoring it.

Making a company like PayPal isn't simple - you will have to make a contract with a bank and with the credit card companies (Visa, MasterCard, etc). To do that you will probably have to have considerable start-up funds to demonstrate that you will be solvent, as well as a solid business plan. You will have to find out the government regulations for processing money and file the appropriate paperwork. You will likely have to hire an attorney to make sure you are following all the laws properly, and who can help protect you from lawsuits from possibly disgruntled customers. You will need to have a computer security expert on your team to make sure that your site can't be hacked and peoples' money can't be stolen. You will need to figure out how to prevent criminals from using your service for money laundering, and scammers from providing false information.

It's not impossible, but it will take a lot of work and money to do properly. Based on this thread you started a couple of days ago, you didn't even verify your PayPal account and were trying to use a personal account for doing business. Consider that becoming a payment processor is much much more complicated - and requires many more resources - than setting up a verified PayPal account or obtaining a credit card, which you haven't yet done. Why not just get a Moneybookers or Alertpay account to accept payments instead?

In the mean time, if you are serious, you will have to go to one of your local banks and apply for Visa and MasterCard merchant accounts. If you are accepted for those accounts you will be able to process credit card payments without having to go through a middleman like PayPal. Note that you will likely need a business plan, startup money, and more ID and references than what you needed to open your PayPal account. You can read more about such accounts here:

You should hire a team of programmers for this. payment processors are a very complicated scripts.

I know how hard it is to create one since I am also a programmer.

You have to face a lot of legal issues, I would suggest you to contact some good legal persons.
