How can I make my site more community like?

    Hey everyone,

I want to make my site more engaging to the user. I want more interactivity, maybe make users register and build some sort of community.

Currently, I'm not seeing a lot of comments, and I want users to get more involved and actually read and go in depth with the content I provide.

Take a look at my site http://www.thedvdbuff.com and give me your thoughts or ideas on how I could make my site more community like. I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks.

How about holding a contest? Give away a free DVD each week for a month but only to people that leave comments. That encourages people to post and keep posting. People love free DVDs, I know I would!

contest idea is a good one. have people submit a list with their favorite movies or just a movie review. then choose a random winner to get a new movie.

this could create good content + community + new readership...sweet

You sound like your talk about having a forum run along side of your site.

Basically a spot where people get to know each other and talk about what's going on in your site.

Although a forum is easily run. It requires you to dedicate yourself to being involved and always have something new going on.
