Hi I have a site that we have been working on for three years now. It is a very popular Celebrity Gossip website and lifestyle magazine which has very heavy traffic each day which runs into the thousands. We have another six months left before the site is the way we want it to look and where we will have all the sections that we want but our trouble is, we are not making money from affliate programmes and this is due to because we are not experienced in advertising. Our strength is from writing and also to getting traffic to our site but when it comes to knowing how to make money from our site we are clueless. Can anyone please help us to understand how we can make money from our site and help us to understand how affliates can bring us money and which ones we should have for our site. Have you looked for product related to your website topics. I noticed you have a lot of Bingo adverts maybe try some different adds on different pages, weight loss, health and beauty, possibly glamour magazine subscription. These kind of product will probably appeal more to your viewers and fit in with the general topics of your website. Best way to find adds that work is split test on different pages.
try to find companies that offer affiliate, find out how legitimate they are, and sign up for their programs.
I have tried different programmes, but i think the problem i have is, i do not know which programmes should go with which content and which sections. I have changed the adverts over and over again. For example our main page, in2town.co.uk i have changed them again and again, and the following page which got over 2,000 people reading it yesterday received no customers and no hits for the adverts. in2town.co.uk/Coronation-Street-Star-gets-dumped-for-being-silly-boy and another page which attracted over 2,200 people yesterday got no clicks or sales from the ads in2town.co.uk/Miley-Cyrus-says-Glee-is-rubbish and another one which never got any clicks is in2town.co.uk/Ronan-Keating-to-get-back-together-with-wife I really have a major problem of knowing which ads to put where. If anyone has any suggestions on what ads i should be looking at then that would be amazing. I currently use buy at, trade doubler affliate window and paid by results as well as CJ. I just want to start seeing my site work, it works with traffic as we get high traffic but not on sales. I would be over the moon if the site could start earning at least £20 a day
