I'm trying to get started in making money online. Just wondering if anyone knows of any good websites with some information that I can read. I'm not quite sure what I want to do yet though, just a newbie trying to learn more for now.

Great question. Most common 2 things are building websites and making google adsense income from them. Or playing with the ebay marketplace, as in buying low and selling high. One thing I do NOT suggest is online surveys. Those are a waste of time and you'll never get paid for them. Best of luck mate

2 great places to start are either affiliate marketing or Google Adsense. Affiliate marketing means you sell a product that someone else has already created. The good thing about this is that you just have to point people towards the product (and hopefully good sales page) and when they buy it, you get paid. Google Adsense is basically ads that you can place on a website. If a visitor clicks an ad, you get paid.

ask yourself this question , put youself in clients shoes and then see what services will you buy and then concentrate on one of them and then master them , you will make money this way.

Whore yourself out writing articles for a while or doing some mundane SEO tasks. Your clients will give you the blueprint to making internet monies.
There's so many ways to do it! All the above ways are great ways to get started. I would also do a google check for many of the type of ways to make money. Find an area (theres tons) that you would be good at and exploit it! Practice with it until you get good, then the money will naturally follow.
