i have many successful content campaigns, however content is a completely different beast than PPC.

    1. Make sure you have content separated from your regular campaigns. Content cannot be turned on with the click of a button, the campaign and adgroup setup is 200% different than PPC

    2. you are not bidding on keywords you a bidding on "themes". A them is a grouping of keywords and what they mean in whole. Example. this might be an adgroup of keywords (fat, medicine, girls, women, diet, pills, help, weight loss). When you see this series of keywords what does it make you think about? In PPC you would never bid on girls or women, but in content its highly recommended to paint the right picture, so words like this should be used.

    3. you should have a minimal 5 keywords - 30 keywords to make up your adgroup "theme". Google ignores anything over 50 keywords.

    4. Start CPC's very low and increase over time till you start to see conversions

    5. Run the PPR report constantly and exclude sites that perform poorly

    6. Google puts you on the sedo and godaddy parking pages. If these are not converting call and email google requesting that you be removed from those pages. You cannot do it manually, it can only be handled by request.

Let me know if this helps

    robert,

I did turn off keyword search before I ran this campaign. however, in my keyword list I have more than 50 keywords.

actually, this campaign overall do make me profit. however, I think there is a way I can lower my cost without losing the clicks but just don't know how... i am worry that if i lower the CPC it will give me lower # of clicks.

google excludes anything over 50 keywords and only looks at the first 50 in each adgroup.

if you mirrored a search campaign as your content, then i don't really have any advice, since your campaign is structured incorrectly.

    Hello,

I am a newbie for Google adwords. I am just learning it.

How could you say that google only include first 30. I have searched but couldn't find anything related to it in Google Adwords Help section.

Also, what is the good way to structure any campaign?

All the inputs are highly appreciated. :)

    Thanks & Regards -- Ann
