If you are getting a max of 5 cent clicks, well around that anyway, normally 1-2c

Maybe it´s because of the user location. Some countries are more expensive.

Smart pricing gets blamed for a lot of things that are not smart pricing.

With an ad network as large as Google's there is going to be a lot of variation in ad inventory, ad prices, and ad display that change all day, every day and have nothing to do with your website, or smart pricing.

For example I have insurance ads that, on average, pay about $2 a click one day, but only 30 cents a click the next day, then back up to $1.50 the next day. It's not the same ads all day every day. And it's not smart-pricing. It's just normal variation. There's nothing that dictates that ad prices stay the same over a period of time.

It's natural to want to blame revenue decreases on some "evil conspirator" and sit back an whine about it. But the best action is to keep working on your site, improving it, adding content, getting more traffic, implementing good SEO, and experimenting. That way, you hedge against normal variations in revenue. With a site containing a large amount of content that is targeted to a variety of keywords, you will see day to day revenue variations of less than 10%-15%.

If my sites ever get smartpriced or whatever only giving my .02 per click you better believe adsense will be gone in less than the time it takes to click twice....talk about a case for switching to yahoo msn or elsewhere.
