How can I know Google won’t ban me unfairly?

Sorry about the long read, but PLEASE read! (It may benefit you too, so you don’t fall in the same trap as I did)

Although I’ve been here for a long time, I hardly post, but I read a lot. And a particular post grabbed my attention on here that due to past owners of domains being on a google blacklist, the new owner of the domain can blacklisted too by google.

Which places me in a very strange situation due to this.

I’ve bought a domain a 6 months back which was “stolen” from me, (grabbed) by a registrar for a few days only.

It was one of those cases where registrars “steals” and registers domains from you to see if they get any traffic, apparently this domain didn’t get any traffic, so when they released it back afterwards, I purchased it.

Now, how do I know that registrar was not black listed by google, then consequently google banning me for “owning a domain that was owned by a banned compnay/individual/etc…”.

I actually don’t know if they are/were black listed or not, but seeing how they “steal” domains, I wouldn’t put anything past them and I am just taking precaution and seek your advice.

Since the domain was only owned for a few days and was quite a while back, I have no recollection of the company that bought it (or should I say, stole it), so I don't know who they were and can’t check to see if they are black listed or not. I’m actually lost and don’t know what to do!

I haven’t actually used the domain, but planning to use the domain, but also nervous that Google might see me as the “bad guy” just because I ended up registering a domain that was registered by an actual “bad guy” (if they were a bad guy, that’s is, i'm not pointing fingers) for a few days.

Now I don’t know if the company who “snached” the domain from me and registered it is on a google blacklist, but you can’t be too sure and no point of taking any chances!

So what do I do? Email and Google and let them know of this situation before I use the domain and put adsense on it or what?

P.S. I actually wrote advice thread about this "stolen domains" to help people out so they don’t end up going through the trouble I did, you can read it here:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=827635#post827635

That was written because of the problem I went throug with this domain I am concerned about now.

So, should I be worried of google banning me if the "snachers" were/are blacklisted. Would google understand the situation?

    Your advice please?

I would stay away from all of that blacklist crap and just think of your own unique domain name and regester it. Just my 2 cents.

yea i agree imgtube.get other, that will be your fault if you still use black listed domains.don't spend your time on it.if you are planning to use adsense why not go for safe side.don't let yourself think everyday "god will adsense ban me".don't go for trouble.

    Point4722,

In the situation you are explaining I would
definitely write to Google and ask if the domain
is black listed or not, and do they have problems
with it or not. I would do it before using it and
before building a site and placing their ads on it.

This is according to me the only way to go.
    Happy Holidays and good luck

    Point 4722,

You have a very strange problem but i believe that there is always a better choice for everyone.

In the first place, why buy a domain out of sentiments. if you know for yourself that the domain was stolen from you, then why not bother firsthand to report it to Google, maybe it should have been more easier for you to accept the domain's faith.

second, if you bought the domain that you know has been stolen from you, then what's the point in doing so if you know already that the domain itself is not at all generating the traffic that it needs before you got it the second time around.

sorry for this reply but there really is no point at making a mistake the second time around. in my country we call with some odd name you will not like but all i can do to help you is to let you know that maybe it's time to let go of the domain...

Better send a mail to Google with the URL, surely they will check it out, is there any problem with the domain..

Does the police arrest you when you drive a car that you bought from a gangster? No? There's your point.
Why should Google ban you because the previous owner may or may not have done something wrong? You had nothing to do with it, so it's bs. If it's still blacklisted now, you send them a mail asking for reinclusion.
And FYI: Registrars who do domain kiting only put ads on those pages, not some sex-gambling-porn-drug stuff.
