How can I juggle keeping an acceptable overall CTR with a dominant vague keyword?

    New to adwords:eek: and wondering..

If I include a vague keyword I get a desirable number of clicks and impressions (30k) but the CTR is low (.32%). However with only using specific keywords my impressions drop to 1k and subsequently my clicks drop significantly as well but with a better CTR of 1.61%.

I enjoy the results from the vague keyword but I fear that google will rank my whole account lower for having a poor CTR because of one dominant vague keyword.

Is there something that I can do to find a happy middle? or is all hope lost?

    Thanks in advance

your probably better off using more targeted keywords. You will never win at PPC with a low CTR (particularly Google PPC)

I disagree. If you're getting better quality traffic with a broad term, go with the broad term. Google is only concerned about CTR, you should be concerned with volume of quality traffic - these goals are usually at ends with each other. As long as you find your CPC acceptable and like the quality and volume of traffic you're getting, there's no reason you should care if your quality score dips.
