How Can I Install XP as 2nd OS

    I bought a laptop that already have Windows Vista on it, but I want to install xp as my 2nd OS because some of my applications doesn't run on vista. How can I Install xp when vista is already installed???

    Partition the hard drive (Give it a 2nd drive letter by taking space from C: drive) install XP on the new partition.

    there are several ways of doing this...

    on a clean HDD, its a lot easier, as you can simply create two partitions then install one OS on each...

    However, presumably you have an OS running already... So, you'll need a partitioning program, such as Symantec Partition Magic (thats the one I use).

    you can take unused space from your current OS's partition, and create a secondary partition, format it for XP (NFTS), and then run your XP Setup disc and select the new partition as the XP's destination.

    If these applications arent particularly 3d hungry, you could always run them in VMware. For more office-based apps you dont noticed any drop in perfomance from native to virtualised OS.
