Social media optimization will help you to get more and more traffic to your website. Facebook, twitter, linkedin, Blogs will be very useful.

 

first a good updated daily content. backlinks from big sites. create articles and post them on blogs or specialized sites like ezine.

 

According to me,You need to setup to good on page of your website.All your web-pages should be keyword specific and you need to generate quality backlinks from the valuable/trusted domains.Track your link buildings report and check whether it is wroth for your website or not.I prefer 10 quality link compared to 100 bulk links.

 

New Unique Content and Keywords are the key. If you are not adding good, unique, relevant content then you are dead. You will also beat your head in if you are trying to compete for highly competitive keywords because companies spend millions to monopolize those keywords.

 

How old is your site? And what kind of site is that (blog, forum, directory)?
Based on your statement you've only done link building. But generating more traffic is not only achieved through link building. You need to provide more and more quality contents. My blog is only 9month old, and it's now receiving stable traffic of 2-3K UV daily. I did not spend any dime for SEO, all I do is to increase my useful contents, plus a little bit of link building.

 

In most of the cases its takes about couple of months before you can see any improvement in traffic. Keep doing you promotional work on regular basis and again check the results after some time. If all that fails (rare case) then you should consider going for paid advertisement.

 

You can increase visitors to your website by blog commenting on authority sites relevant to your niche, ensure that the comments adds value to the conversation or else they might be removed
