I'm new on forums and I want to start one related to my country. How can I make it successful? If anyone can give me tips, that would be a nice thing to start.

Forums are often tough to get rolling. I started one that is geologically focused - which is pretty much what you're trying to do and after 2 years of hard work I get 200 000 visitors a month, but it was a lot of work till I achieved that. Which country are you from? Do you have any experience writing SEO articles?

Like muncle said it's really hard to get started, but once you hit a certain amount of visitors it grows all by itself. When making my forum I would submit articles on social bookmarking websites and add the link to my signature in related forums.

Contests are also a good way to get users involved

You dont need to hire anybody, postexchanger.com was created to help new forum owners get their forum going.
The site just launched today so you might have to wait until there are more members so you can start getting posts.
