The cheapest method would probably be article and directory submission. Just make sure your articles are well written, with good content, and have good targeted keywords. Your directory submissions should be to directories with good PR. Ivan

Start posting around the forum and contributing. When you hit 10 posts you can have links in your signature. I advise putting a link to your site in your forum sig file for starters.
Forums are a great way to get your name out. If you can set up forum accounts that are the same as your domain. Do this only if you can generally add true content to the forums otherwise it is considered spam.
Did you social bookmark your site? I would register to AS many social bookmarking sites as possible and submit your site/articles to them. Also like mentioned SEO is the best way to go.. organic traffic lasts much longer.
