    Hey Guys,

I recently just put up a PPC Ad Network on my website (Yes, AdSense). I am very happy to be apart of their program with my website. The reason for this post is that I was wondering if any of you would know and tips, suggestions or changes I may need to do to increase my Click-Through-Rate. Here is my website......

    www.Date-Rater.com

Please let me know! - Thanks in advance! :)

Your landing page should has a good quality, so I guess what you should do is to improve your ads. You can also try to use some long-tailed-keywords, which make your impression more targeted

What are you referring to when you say "try to use some long-tailed keywords"...? Please be more specific.

I just checked out your site. I have two suggestions.

    1. try moving your skyscraper banner you have on the right "above the fold" meaning place it above your little chat thingy. Most users don't scroll down to the bottom of the page.

2 .Change the background color in your skyscraper to match the background of the table its in. Blend it in with the site.

    hope this helps.

    peace.

Blending is the key. Make your ad links the same colour as standard site links etc. I think along with positioning ads in the hotspots, that is the quickest and easiest way to improve your CTR.

concentrate on getting traffic. Do not concentrate on CTR. More traffic more clicks :D

    Dear Peenuthead,

An increase in CTR can mean a lot to AdSense Revenue. To increase AdSense revenue, either you have to increase traffic or increase CTR.

Your earnings will depend on a number of factors, including the types of ads being served to your pages, the cost per click or cost per impression of these ads, and your users' click through selections. Regarding ad placement - the best ad format varies from page to page. We've observed that, in general, wider ads perform better because of their reader-friendly format.

AdSense comes after traffic. No traffic, no AdSense. Take a great care of your traffic. Your visitors expect some valuable information from you. Make sure you are providing quality content to them. This will increase your visitors' return back ratio. And only those visitors will return who are more targeted to the content you are providing. More targeted users mean more CTR. 85 percent of my visitors add my website urls in their Favorites, and most of them do return.

Install a Website stats monitoring software and regularly look at your web logs, and get a handle on where your traffic is coming from. Try to establish a pattern or relation between your AdSense stats and your traffic stats, so that if there are any marked deviations you can make a judgment on why there has been an increase/decrease and what (if anything) you can do about it.

This will give you new ideas to develop traffic.

Experiment and experiment a lot, till you are satisfied with the tweaks you have done to achieve highest CTR. Track your page performance by making channels of ads in your AdSense Control Panel and experiment till you are satisfied with your CTR. Though, each such experiment will make you loose money for a day or two, as Google may take time to adjust with new changes, but it will be beneficial in long run.

Its getting too long but hope that it helps you.

    Regards

    Tehmina

OK - got it - more traffic = better CTR. I really appreciate the advice from all of you...BUT one more questions...how do you think my 'actual' ads are on my website? Do you think I should change the subject of the ads?...let me know :)

more traffic does not = a better CTR.

Relevant nicely placed ads on your website do. As mentioned above also try different placements and sizes. Remember to track what is performing and what is not, then after a weeks time you should have a good feel of what is working.

From my personal experience I have had petty good CTR using adsense links.
