Im having problems trying to get alot of sales on my fairly high traffic website, www.ps2home.co.uk . I need your help to how i increase sales.
Stroh, Try submitting short articles about your potential clients' favorite topics and include your website link. The more directories you submit to, the more chance you have of people wanting more specific info and turn up at your site. Create interest and they'll want to know more.
Set up some review pages of various games with a sales link to the product and related products and/or a link to the sales page.
Ps2home.co.uk has a traffic rank of: 873,631 Most of your pages in g's index is forums and users pages. From the random pages I clicked on I saw cheat codes for games. Most people looking up cheat codes would probably already own the game. A nice game fly banner(they use cj for affiliates) for online game rentals might pay better then your amazon ads. I know I like to buy my games locally as shipping on new games really cuts down on the deals I can find online. Pre-orders online do alright, but once the game is out, most of the time a lot of places will have them in stock at cheaper or the same price you will pay at Amazon. So my 2 suggestions, on-line game rental banners and try to highlight upcoming games/game systems with a lot of buzz and try selling those through your amazon links. Soon/sometime they will stop making PS2 games, and then what for your website? Google trends for the term "ps2" Google trends for term "ps3", maybe you should make a sister site, or a new category on your site. Traffic, traffic, traffic, that always works for me. I'm lucky if I make some money above hosting on a site with worse then a 200k alexa ranking. Anything under 200k I get plenty of amazon sales. Google gave me this little blip on one my project amazon sites, made about 50 bucks in amazon sales on 4890 uniques. Of coarse this is general items, not themed like your site.
I agree with ten1312 about the red color. Your new release section has no link to the games. Maybe a game review or comparison would help.
I'm going to say try a ppc campaign, or get some advertising or banner exchanges, something to drive targeted traffic to it. Not just SEO. It might be off putting that all your front page, major links, go straight to an Amazon page. The design changes within one click, which might turn some people off.
I'm trying to decide on a niche that I can actively write/post about...I'm actually a graphic artist, print broker, and web designer - not so much an e-commerce guru. I could probably write for days on raising teenagers. lol Have any suggestions for a niche? Btw: Lightning-Software you really posted some useful info!
PPC will make your sales grow fast, if you stop, your sales will been normal. Submit your website to webdirectory for increase backlink will make sale slow. Design is another way to customer look clearly.
