You can submit your feed to RSS directories for starters. Second would be to remove the feed subscribers counter from the sidebar until you actually get something to display...no one will subscribe if it looks dead or that no one else finds the information interesting.

Lastly...where the hell do I subscribe ? You don't have your subscription options, or an RSS button displayed anywhere. People aren't going to look for it. If I can't find it, neither can anyone else.. People don't know to click the counter, and they aren't going to click a counter with 3 subscribers showing.

No need to go overboard, just put something neat and professional. You could probably throw a little one in the footer amongst all those other links as well.

A lot of people give away ebooks or some kind of tool or application (like a free mortgage calculator) for signing up by RSS or email to entice people to subscribe.

You should also give people the option of Joining you on Facebook, and Twitter...a follow is a follow, who cares which they choose. Some people would rather do the social networking thing than to add another RSS feed to their desktop or home page.

1.) Do some feed exchanges. As Hmansfield said, the chances of people subscribing to a feed will be more if they see a decent number of existing readers.

2.) Give out some freebies, or organise a contest.

Run a contest. The requirement should be to subscribe to your blog feed.

Post a good content and add your RSS feed to feed aggregators - there are lots of them
