How can I increase CTR?

    I have a wordpress blog and have a small rectangular banner at the top and bottom of each page.

    I'm not sure that this is optimal. My CTR is usually very low (i.e. not in the 5% -10%).

    Are there any tips I could try out, that you guys have found work well in blogs?

    Kind of an open ended response, but why not try to integrate the ads into the content more?
