Hi Eveyone, I'm trying to get a beauty forum off the ground - beauty advice forum. It's going okay, I'm planning on install the plugin vBSEO plugin. But can anyone thing of anything I can do to attract more users? Also what else could I improve?
You have 53 members but they seem to be real active on the forum with 727 post. Maybe you need to start a contest, may be referral. then your members will recruit more members and the word about your forum will increase helping your forums.
I agree, a contest would help. You could ask people to post in a thread with beauty advice, and something else that will spike posts from users. Perhaps you can give away some new beauty product to the winner. The way I see it, is the TV and internet is going to be talking about this new product, people will see it on TV and go online to find it, so if you keep on top of the news and such, those people will find your site and participate to win the free item they want so badly! The site looks fine. I know building a forum can be tough and takes time. I'd install a Social Networking module so people can hit Digg and the others with the posts. A blog might help you out a little here also. I'm not so sure about contests with your niche. I think people are going to want knowledge here. Perhaps set up wordpress on your site or go to blogger.com and start publishing your knowledge and then push your forum. Use all of the Social Networking gadgets you can for this. I just think people are going to want an authority on the subject around and what better way to show your authority than to write about it? Good Luck!
