first of all stop to think about sites like for example "PR 4 site" - if on this site there are 10 outgoing links you will get very low pagerank from it...all the time you need to checking this..but definitely try to get backlinks from sites with some PR, don`t think as well about quantity of links because only one link from good site can bring you more traffic and has influence on your position then 1000 links from low quality sites...
