I have this diy and make channel since 2016. Got a lot a views on some videos and a pretty decent monthly income. The problem is that I don't get a lot am of subscribers and I don't know what to try next to get users interested in my content. Daniel H. Any suggestions?
I checked out your channel: https://www.youtube.com/danielh Is there one thing in DIY that you're passionate about? There's this popular channel I used to watch where a guy builds electric guitars out of weirdest stuff (like colored pencils), his videos get millions of views.
Why are you not talking in your videos? Talking and explaining what you are doing will make videos more engaging. Like in your birdhouse video, tell the measurements of wood, tell which scale you are using and why, which machines you are using, give tips to be careful about when handling those machines, etc etc. The intro of your channel is also just background music, talk something there too. Explain what you do on your channel. Also, the topic of your videos is not really "subscribe" material. People subscribe when something is in a series, or there are other parts of it which you promise to publish later. Like a SEO or SMO channel will get tons of subscribers because something new is happening every now and then. People subscribe to stay in touch with NEWS and those kind of things. Not sure how many people would be interested in returning to a craft channel... You can still engage some viewers by telling what you plan to do in your next video. Some might subscribe.
Thanks for the advice. The problem with speaking in my videos is that English is not my first language and I tried talking in romanian and using subtitles but didn't get any good feedback either. Will try using text to write what I do.
Oh, there are so many videos I come across on youtube where half of what they are saying goes from above my head. Most of the time because of pronunciation. Like a Japanese person was trying to explain "candle sticks". Was very difficult to follow, but I still subscribed to his channel and liked lot of his videos. Also, most of the times the fear is within ourselves only, and viewers really do not care about little errors. Out of 100 people watching your video, if 1 gives a negative feedback, then you need not change your format completely. You cannot please everyone. Give it a try, make a short video with voice and share it here. Don't worry too much about pronunciation, don't focus your attention on that. Focus on what you are doing, and I am sure it will be more than good enough to publish on youtube. Your written English is good.
Arebyou having a call to action in your videos ? Sometimes people are loose a lot of subscribers because simply don't tell to people to susbscribe
