Its just the way it is mate, about 90 - 95% of my traffic across ALL my sites come from google, it doesnt matter how many pages are indexed in Yahoo the majority of you traffic will come from Google

I think indexing is important whether it would be in Yahoo or Google. More pages indexed, the more rankings you could have.

Why are not all pages indexed in Yahoo?
    Answer -
1st of all. Are all the pages are interlinked properly within the website?
What about the link popularity of inner pages?

Yahoo Traffic is better than Google because users are more likely to buy. You need good title tags, keywords on page and tons of incoming links with your targeted anchor text. Also subscribing to Yahoo search submit basic has worked wonders for me in Yahoo.

I would recommend that you read How to Optimize for Yahoo! as it contains about all the information required to rank well in Yahoo SERPs.

For those that say forget everything and concentrate on Google, they are the ones who sooner or later post how their site visits are down and they are loosing money. A real webmaster never puts all his/her eggs in the one basket.

As mentioned already in this thread, and I will concur as per my experience, Yahoo visitors do tend to click on ads and buy products more than Google visitors do. If you do a search on DP, you will find similar experiences by other webmasters.

Make sure you can get your site in the ODP "Open Directory Project"
It will make your PR better and improve your back links overtime as many directories use the ODP`s results :)
    cheers

I have another question - will Yahoo send visitors to all my pages like Google is doing??
If that happens I can receive visitors both from Yahoo and Google :D

I generally optimise my sites for Yahoo and Google indexes those sites quite well (I have many 1st page/1st results on both Google and Yahoo right now).

Once Yahoo begins to like your site, you should get natural traffic from there in no time for all pages. While not as numerous as Google, the quality of the visitors (in respects to clickings ads/buying products) does make up for it.

most of my sites do very well on yahoo.
yahoo loves links and picks them up from almost anywhere.

what is the url in question? do you want to pm me and i will have quick look for you.

in general though, to get lots of quick easy links on yahoo, find a directory submission service that puts out to human edited free directories and do some article promotion. pm me if you want ones that i use
you will get loads of links for yahoo to feed off.

    note*
dont bombard this post with allsorts of Google SERP nonsense about low quality links blah blah. We are talking very specifically about Yahoo linking to improve his indexing and hopefully increase the range of phrases.

Also make sure you have good internal linking as someone has mentioned, yahoo counts the internal links.
breadcrumbs on your site helps here.

another small mention on meta descriptions, many times people tell me they are not used and are not worth the bother, I usually write descriptions for the home page and for the top sections only. I then try to automate the product pages by using variables, this works well on keywords too.
    so for descriptions on my inner pages i would use something like;

fantastic online offers from mystore.com, VARIABLE at great prices from large supplier of myproductranges.
the very latest in designs and ranges.

when doing keywords, I only use up to 3 phrases per page, I see a lot of people still have 10 plus phrases in their keywords.
Am not saying others are wrong, just putting down some of the things i use.

A site of mine that i wont mention, has 1083 pages indexed in Google and 2610 in Yahoo.
I tend to find that is usually the case with my urls, Google never indexes as well as Yahoo.
