How Can I Improve My Menu?

My menu on my new website just isn't doing it for me. I don't know exactly what's wrong, but I just don't dig the vertical menu. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve it?

I think it is ok but I would make each item the same height as your bar at the top (29px). Personally I think that green is a little bold.

I would also change the css to make the non-rollover text of the top bar the same as the left.

If I were to be really picky, I might change the arrows to be the same height as a line of text.

You might want to try a light shade of grey as opposed to green backgrounds. That will help tone down the website altogether so that you can make the stuff you really want to stand out.

The arrows to me indicate that its a fly out menu, so I would possibly lose those. I would also do as above have mentioned and edit the height and match the fonts up. Also, as you have a background hover colour, the underline isn't really necessary. I think it'd also be good to change the blackground colour on the header, to the same colour dark grey as the hover.

    Hope this helps :)
