Do you have friends offline that can speak English? It's better and easier learning English with a friend who can speak. Make a conversation to them in English. Don't be ashame if you are speaking broken english with your friends. If you practice it, I'm sure your english will improved.

This thread sounds familiar... I'm going recommend watching documentaries in english if you want good english.. depends on what level you want your English to be. Do you want to speak like an intellect? :p

lol cmon B in PMR is not too bad.

were you in the remove class (kelas peralihan)? i know some friends in the remove class whose english is worse than yours.

when you say 'improve', what do you plan to achieve? do you want to be able to write essays, get an A, or do you just want people to be able to understand you?

if it's the first one, you need tuition. i see alot of grammatical errors. if you just want people to be able to understand you, just keep doing what you're doing, watch more english shows, read more newspaper, and most importantly GET A FRIEND TO SPEAK ENGLISH with you.

Are you Malaysian? I not study in kelas peralihan. Kelas peralihan is for the student who doesn't pass BM paper in UPSR.

I study on science stream class , but I not interested to learn add math and chemistry. I more interested economy subject , business and vocational (skill) electrical wiring.

right. my mistake. i forgot about the BM part.

anyway considering what you're planning to do, i strongly suggest you take english classes.

it also depends on what you want to do after SPM. vocational classes? form six? local uni?

That's pretty good, I was able to completely understand what you were saying. The best thing would probably be to come here (the U.S.) or another English-speaking country as an exchange student for a semester. Spending time here probably also helps a lot.

an A1 in SPM? you seriously need classes. go find a tuition. there's plenty around. look in the yellow pages.

MMU (i like to call it Money Making University) is a good place, probably well suited for you. english mastery is still important though.

Your english is not as bad as you think it is.

Well, as they say, practice makes perfect. If you don't usually converse with your friends, try chat rooms and forums like this.

    malayguy,

Read as much as you can, listen to BBC and news, and try to speak as much as you can. No program or grammar book will help you.

p.s. and think in English as well :0

you dont seem to bad, basically, if you keep reading books, magazines, newspapers, internet blogs, etc, you will slowly pick up things and eventually it will become nature, if all this doesnt work, im sure you can buy a English for Dummies eBook Somehwere...

I got A2 for my spm, what I did is read something in english especially neswpaper (NST or The Star) and then watch english movies without subtitles. But to improve your communication skill you have no choice then getting a partner to talk with... Forget about grammar error, as long as people understand what are you talking about, it just fine. Soon you'll find out that your communication skill will improve day by day. Try it :)

Your best bet is to read and write in English, a lot. Your English is decent, it just seems like you miss some words. Better than many American teens though. Pay attention to your use of articles as well. In English, most nouns are prefixed by "The", "A", or "An".
