You should probably add less contrast into there, and make the logo fade in with the header a bit more.
I would mess with the header a little more. The black navigation, black header background, black search bar is a little much. I would only use one search box instead of two, change the color of the search box and the navigation, make it blend well. The right side favorite posts could be improved, maybe it's that orange border.
My first thoughts:] Make the top section work for you - choose an image that fits in with your theme, add some sort of slogan to tell users what sort of web journey you offer (eg seo, web design, make money from web etc) - see web design tips for hte basics of making your picture and slogan work together Make the social bookmarking buttons and search box smaller and less prominently positioned - use the key selling space that they occupy to make people WANT to search and bookmark your site On my ie7 browser the suscribe and get updated overwrite each otehr and suscribe goes off the right margin and the right hand column has a X to show images have the wrong path name Make your blog wider - 950px wide is the norm nowadays and a narrow blog looks old fashioned. I like everything except the header. The quality of the image doesn't match the rest of the site. Saw it on Google Chrome (Mac).
