Hi Guys, I would like to get some suggestions to how I can improve the conversion of my site www.powerpointing.com 80% of visitors comes from adwords. I have targeted my adwords to US, ASIA and INDIA so far. May be I should include EU? Looking forward to your suggestions all the best, Tobias
I would include an easy option for your viewers to purchase something right on the main page. Your site is rather flashy and attractive, but you need to think about your target market a little more. You are trying to sell something to people that aren't graphics designers, and aren't multitaskers who will scan through your site quickly and get to where they want to go. Try offering a sale on the main page.
I would recommend a redesign of your main landing page. It is confusing and I am not sure what you are selling at first look. You want to GRAB your visitors right as they enter the site and not make them think too much. Explain, in a quick and direct way, what the site is about, that will help greatly
Give more buy options, even on the front page. Offer a few package deals on the front page. Oh, and of course, market it properly.
If there are people in EU who you can sell your product to then go for it. As long as you keep your keywords as relavent and as targeted as possible, you will do ok.
@nhc1987 my current conversion is about 0.5%. My parent keywords are powerpoint designs, powerpoint templates and powerpoint slide designs
Believe it or not, that is normal. You may, MAY see 1-2%, but you are at the norm. If most of your visitors are from the U.S., you need to change the EUR to $. Or do both. Your site really doesn't explain what it can do for webmasters. I clicked on the templates' section, but it is very vague. I'm looking at it and going, "huh"??? Look at your competitors who are more successful to see how they are doing it.
Always keep track of your website's stats however you decide to track them, as while you are experimenting with different things you need to keep records if you want to find out for yourself how to do all of this without any help. Affiliate programs will help you sell, sign up accounts at the big ones at least, you can find more info in the appropriate section of Digital Point.
Look at which countries are converting best for you. Ditch all the other countries and focus on that single region.
First of all, your keywords suck. That is NOT what people search when they're even thinking of buying templates. They search that to find free alternatives. That being said, I did a little research for you, and I think your best bet is to change the entire business plan. Offer an incentive, free trial template, or something of the sort, to show the quality, and then lure them for monthly subscriptions. Make sure you've building an email list the entire time to be able to milk your potential customers, and an email list for those who've bought so you can offer them more in the future, since you KNOW they've already bought once.
Thx for all the replies. I think I am going to do something on the frontpage this week. Offer them a package and let them sign up of our newsletter. @Vadym: What keywords would recommend? Thx
Your site is really good.Honestly, i like your design and color.Just a quick observation maybe you could try to make your keywords more related to your product.
Add some articles that would explain why they need your templates. Most likely some individual article for each of your templates.
Like I said, I did a bit of research off-hand, and I couldn't really find any buyer-related keywords. I'd look for words like 'custom' and possibly 'buy'/'purchase', but they have low search volumes. Which is why I suggested the other method.
