How can I improve conversion

I rank on the top 3 on Google for my key phrase - Daily, I get 1800 uniques and about 5000 page views...from that one site alone!

I offer visitors free estimates for home improvement services and only get 7-12 leads a day.

HELP - any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I attended a Yahoo seminar in South Boston last year and conversions was one of the topics. The woman said 3% is average, she seemed credible. Sites that sell perishable stuff with expensive shipping will be lucky to get 1 %.

does your site look professional?...i know I for one, when I have to fill out a form to get an estimate for something...the first thing I think about is 'crap...how much spam is this gonna send me'...

don't know if that's the case here as I haven't seen the site...but it could be a factor...

    Hi Webgirl,
Can you PM me your site? I will take a look.
Also, if you are OK with it, PM me your top 3 keyword/phrases. Part of the issue could be the keywords.

Have you been able to determine what the conversion rate is for each keyword set? Is there a set that performs significantly better than others?

Have you signed up for a pay per action service? AKA, you pay when someone fills the form out. Google's got one

A tool I use is muvar... the premise is straight forward, test different versions of variables on a page and find the best converting combination and show it more often.

It's been designed for sales pages but it could be used in this case as well.

I have had the similar problem with two of my web-sites. For one, the solution I was selling was too hard to use, it was clear for buyers, but not for me. Once I have realized that I put a simplier product (some kind of e-book), which is generating now more profits.

The second project, was running for free and doesn't ask for money in any way (except google ads), also, it suggests to subscribe to really good e-course for free, but no lack. It has about 300 uniques per day, but one 1-2 subscriptions per week. I've decided that people are not willing to have information for free and started selling a "buyer guide", I've did this just yesterday but hope to see some results soon.

Let your visitors opt in to your ezine. Then they have something about your site to refer to. I also suggest you you put a Bookmark This Page link on your page. Also look at your preselling again.

Well, that's after 8 years in the business and learning from others and tweaking sites. One of my mortgage sites gets 18.99% conversion. Problem is it's the lowest traffic site, but it has the most updated design.

I have 30% conversion for forms....... Tip>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> remove links that distract customers, make sure form is on front not sub page... tell customers information is spam free and they will only receive info requested.......

I took off most of my sub-pages(put links on bottom) and put form on front and my conversion rate doubled
