Are you transferring from one cpanel to another? If so, there is a backup and restore feature under "back up".

You can also use phpmyadmin which is accessible from the bottom of the mysql page. You export for the old and import into the new. It all depends on how your data is formated. Mysql-font is an excellent third-party program that makes it a lot easier provided your host allows remote access to the database (some do, some don't). I think they offer a full-version free trial.

Go to the SQL tab and look at the bottom, "Location of the textfile:"

Find your file on your hard drive and hit "Go"

If your database is small, you can just copy the output from the window screen, go to mysql databases in cpanel. On the mysql pages, create the database name and then create and add the user for it. The third line from the bottom of the mysql page should show a link "phpMyAdmin". Select the database on the left of the page and then "sql". A window should come up and you then paste the information you copied from the other site and paste it into the window and select "go". It will show you if there are any errors.

Also, if you have a halfway decent host and you exceed the allowed file size, they will do it for you.

I recently had to move a 100M database and asmallorange was pleased to do it.
My old host refused (which is why they are my old host)
