I started working for this real estate company about a month ago, they are doing great business but the SEO of the main page is something that needs some major updating. www.soldbyme.com I would really appreciate any change recommendation's you can make for how we can do this the right way. Also, what types of forums and inbound links would you recommend we try to obtain for the best benefit. Real estate in general is a cut throat business, and online real estate is no different, we have to work hard here and put on our A game. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

My e-book on SEO will be released in the next couple of days

For $10 it will be a worthwhile investment for you, your boss and the company

Work on on-site optimisation, then try and linkbuild. Cover the basics - directories and social bookmark sites, then do more advanced link building

    Hi there

I agree real estate is competitive ... I manage 4 sites myself!

    Some initial comments ...

The home page needs more word content, focused on you niches in real estate.

Get more links to your site ... I could only see one in MSN .... YOU NEED MUCH MORE.

This forum is highly recommended, lots of info, for example got to the 'link development' section, take a look for advice to build links to your site.

As a starter I will give you a link exchange from one of my sites, PM me for details.

    Good luck

First identfy the main keywords (key phrases) for your site. Then use those keywords in your title, heading, and content (also use them in Anchor links). As it is real estate site, you will have lots of competitions. If you are specific in one area, consantrate on that are while choosing the keywords. Of cours buying links from high PR sites would also help alot.

I am sure there are loads to add. So keep asking questions in this forum. DP is number one, when you need answers.

    - first things first, do keyword research, look for keywords on overture that descibe your business
    - don't use images as a link (menu and titles) in your site, use text links instead
    - respect and use the h1,h2,h3, ... tags (including bold , underline ... )
    - write your own description meta tag, as there are no description tags yet in your site
    - real estate is a big business but that doesn't mean it's hopeless
    - do some link building, free or pay for links on text link ads
    - write better meta title tags , keyword targetted ( not spammed )

If you are interested I could make a redesign of your site and make it search engine friendly, pm me for my portfolio.

thank you all for your comments and suggestions.

He also uses FSBObyme.com sometimes and it seems like there is a big mix of different domain name uses. Is this A. good because hes building sort of a network, or B. Bad because we should be putting all effort into making one domain name dominant?

It sounds like you have experience with real estate SEO, is it best if we have each page target different phrases, or should they all have the same theme. My examples are "Flat fee mls" and "for sale by owner" which are sort of unrelated, or should we go with all the same theme?

    Thanks for any guidance

It depends on if that other domain is a copy or not.
If the content on that other website is different it won't be a problem.
Just make sure you target other keywords with different domains.
Yes, for every page you can target different keywords. Same meta's on different pages is a big no no.
( 1 till maximum 3 keywords a page, I prefer 1 main popular keyword and a less popular keyword )
But if you target those keywords make sure you write decent titel, description tags and don't forget to adjust your page content targetted to your keyword.
