How can I get wordpress to do this?

Ok, it doesn't have to be wordpress. But I really want it to be, because I'm not a webdesign guru, and I like things to be simple. I'm going to hire someone to do all of this, but I need to be able to tell them what I want.

    So, here it is:

    I have a blog, www.mindchanginghypnosis.com

On this blog, I have 20+ free downloadable hypnosis recordings. They are getting downloaded like mad. I like that, but now I want to monetize it.

So, what I want to do is require a user to sign up for a newsletter/autoresponder in order to get access to the downloads. I know this is possible by requiring registration, but thats not what I'm after--I just want to build a list and make some affiliate sales off of the autoresponder.

Ideally, I'd like to integrate this into wordpress, though I think that it may not work out that way. I'm going to do either a subdomain or a /HypnosisRecordings where I will put the download part, which will push the newsletter signups heavily.

So, what do I need to do in order to have that functionality--and still be able to add/edit the content as I please?

Is there an open source content management system out there that already has this functionality?

THanks in advance to whoever can point me in the right direction :D

Wordpress will allow you to have individual pages for your blog that do not show up as a posting & can be edited from with the wordpress admin section.

Not all themes have the file, but It's called page.php - it requires some editing on your programmers side, but they can get a specific page setup for you. You can either create a link to the page, or enable the category "pages" to show in the sidebar. It's a little confusing, though someone who is familiar with modifying wordpress themes should understand it.
