I like to look at what my competitors are doing on Google PPC but don't want to unfairly cost them money for clicking on their ads. Does anyone know how I can see go to the destination URL (landing page) of an Adwords ad without making the advertiser pay for the click?
No, just click the darn link, it's all figured already. Everyone knows that each click might not be from a buyer, some are just people being curious. As long as you don't click for the sake of costing them money you're safe. Keep everything on a normal and sane level, and all things will be just fine.
Well, I don't click out of courtesy because I know it would cost them. In fact, just to check out competition, I use google.com/adpreview which does not count the impression as well, again out of courtesy. You can't click on the ads however. You can note the display URL and visit the site directly. Remember that you not only cost them money by clicking, but you are helping increase their quality when you do (and decreasing the quality of those you don't click on, including your own ads). That's what the ad preview tool is for.
Yeah, true but if the ad links to a specific landing page, which is not listed in the ad, then you won't see it. Because of that, if you truely want to check out the competition, you need to click on the ad. But yeah, his quality score will go up because of his adbeing more popular and getting more clicks, which will give him cheaper ad price and more views because Google considers his had as good quality and something that the surfers like, so don't do t on a regular basis.
Ideally the destination domain will be the same as the one advertised... So you can copy the destination domain & see it.. but this will not tell you the exact page the advertised is advertising... (In some case you can if the advertiser is using the same URL in ad)
Just Click on the Link. You will get exact URL and your competitor will be atleast 1 click short, lol.
hi, competitors might don't mind you click their ads. you help them improve their CTR which actually help them cost lower for one click
Try copying their display URL and pasting it into the address bar of your browser. If the display URL is the correct URL for their landing page hen you would be on their site without clicking on their ad.
