I sell an intangible item (meaning it's delivered via email)...and when I get a purchase through PayPal by a "Non-US - Unverified" buyer, PayPal reverses the payment! Meanwhile, the item is automatically delivered so the buyer already has the item! How do I get PayPal to stop doing this? I thought unverified buyers were only a problem for sellers actually shipping items...but, I don't so I don't need this kind of seller protection...How do I get PayPal to stop doing this?
Do not enable automated order fulfilment. If you want to avoid something like these happening, you need to manually process each other and avoid dealing with any unverified accounts or any account which seems suspicious. Unverified Buyers are typically Unverified and there is no way to determine if the person is for real or out for fraud.
Yes, but i don't understand why PayPal is interfering...It's my risk if I want to deliver something to someone who is unverified. Don't ebay sellers accept payment and deliver to unverified buyers all the time? I want to accept payment from unverified buyers. Why can't I?
Probably because you are not the only one who would be taking the risk as paypal would risk its fees and others when they accept such payment. In any case, call Paypal up and talk to them about it. Tell them that you will accept the risks and would not hold Paypal accountable for anything.
