Hi, I'm a former personal trainer, late 20s. 3 years ago, I studied "natural bodybuilding" intensely because I hated been skinny/weak. I also deplored the fact that other personal trainers really didn't have a clue about making "specific" programs for "skinny guys". So unlike other trainers, I was going to "specialise" in this area while fixing my own problems. After discovering the "online" fitness world, I noticed that the internet was rife with scam and guys taking steroids claiming they built muscle naturally to sell their own programs. So, after 3 full years of study / trial & error I was passionate that I was going to start my OWN program/diet plan that would work for me and others. To prove it could work I commenced it myself at a time when I was skinny and depressed and I ended up adding 18lbs by week 12 and another 11 by 6 months but I KNEW people would attribute it to steroid use or say it was fake, so: I got my weight taking by a doctor before during and after, got fitness assessments that showed huge improvements in strength/fitness and got testing for anabolic steroids to show proof of natural progress, plus I carefully documented the entire transformation with video and photos. My life has improved a lot and I would like to give out these programs/diet plans to other guys who are being ripped off by the fitness industry. Many people are backing me on it that I should but honestly I don't know where to go from here? Where could I go from here? Thanks.
Hello You should let a guy like me , help you brand build you a product so it cal sell and then and create a sales system, We then can link it up and sell it, If you are interested , inbox me, I am / have been an online ,marketer and product guy for 12 years ..... God bless
It sounds like you really know what you are talking about. When I did my fitness instructor course years ago, the programs that were taught always seemed to be more for everyone, rather then specifically tailored for the individual and I think this is mostly as most people who go to the gym just want to lose a bit of weight. I too have seen alot of fitness programs online. the only one that I would trust though, would be the ones launched by the trainers from the biggest loser show. So the first problem that I see is, how are you going to show that your program is better then the 'fake' ones by your competitors? And I honestly think one way to overcome this is to build up a youtube audience. Alot of people do have video guides on youtube, and each video has links back to their own website, but everything starts with creating a website so that you can direct users to it. I would spend time on youtube, and namecheap, try to find a great name that is available on both so you can start to build your brand and have consistent branding across the two. (for domains, I would try to get a .com and or try to get the same matching name in the .fitness TLD) I know this sounds strange, but on youtube, your not selling your program. You are selling yourself. Like "Jillian Michaels" can sell anything as people trust her and have seen her work and seen the results from the biggest loser. So for you you could start doing 5-10minute videos about fitness, stretching, exercising, eating right, and then you can promote your other specific and rare health and fitness plans. Lets say you do 1 really good fitness video on youtube a week, end of the year, you should have a good following, and people will be sharing your content, and people will trust you, and you should be earning from adsense as well. by this stage people know that you are not a fly-by-night and place more value on your site, content, and your programs. You can make money from youtube using adsense, and you can gain quality traffic from youtube to your website. A really good resource for learning to sell is the system called "never cold call". In it he uses his wealth of experience to teach others how he sells his products, even down to the tools he uses to build a list of potential clients and uses email marketing systems to give hints, tips and guides and ultimately to convert your website browsers into buyers of your product.
Create an online course & sell it on marketplaces like Clickbank. You need to start a blog to share your insights and from there, build & brand yourself as an authority figure. Follow people who are already doing it (e.g. Mike Chang). Start shooting videos of your sets & exercise regime. Use YouTube & Vimeo.
The easiest thing would be to create an ebook or full product (DVD, CD, manual, etc), and promote it offline and online, and get affiliates to promote it for you.
Giving tips, tricks, advises etc. will surely work for you. It seems like you have a lot to share so I don't think it will be hard to get your story out there. It will take a lot of time and effort but I'm sure you can do it. Start on writing basic tips and tricks. Something people haven't heard of yet. Then create a video out of it for some people that are more into visual presentation.
You have to connect with other people "out there". Target your potential customers by writing posts about your business. Do a research first, get a target zone, and promote your site. So many things you can do. I have a blog about this. If you are interested you can check them out on my LinkedIn page or on my blog site...
Youtube is a great option for fitness. Post short videos of exercises or tips. You can also create a full workout or weightlifting DVD and use youtube to promote it. But I also want to add that you should also look at offline promotional opportunities as well. Perhaps contact some local newspapers or magazines and see if they would be interested in doing a story on you. Get on the local news morning show. Call Dr. Oz! Well, maybe not that last one, ha.
Hello that is great you can start telling your story by creating a blog is a start.. then write articles and send them to article directories (fitness related) start on your blog and add content to it daily consistently
You are right. It seems like you have got a pretty interesting background, you can use that to your branding advantage. Online marketing now is all about content because it is how you project your expertise to the world. People don't believe in hype anymore, sales content does not sell crazy like in the 90s. Here's how I would do it if I were you: Step one: I will create a Youtube channel and Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc. attached to the channel. Now what about the video idea? Don't worry about it, go to popular channels and see what kind of topics gets the most views and then duplicate the "topic". Step two: Now it's time to build your own blog and e-mail list (the most important, right up there with Youtube subscribers). Now whatever topic you talk about on your Youtube channel. You need to write a "checklist". For example, diet checklist when you talk about the importance of diet. And then before the video ends, you say something like " check out my diet checklist to stay on a healthy diet routine " etc. Capture their emails. Step three: Reach out to authority blogs in fitness niche, do not think that they'll not accept you, just reach out. Write a killer guest post (at least 2,000 word-long usually how-to articles) and then again, write a quick checklist to capture email addresses. This is how you should get started. Actually, there is much deeper than this if we have to go deeper into email marketing. Just remember, build your email list, that's how you'll make a lot of money. If you get stuck or something, I'd be willing to help answer your questions.
I don't think it is easy. Isn't the fitness industry full of that already? Plus, finding affiliates isn't easy nowadays because there are already many health related products already out there. Unless you already have a name in the industry, there is little chance "good" affiliates would send traffic to you.
Sending articles to article directories is a waste of time, in my opinion. Your best bet is to guest post on blogs that already have loyal readership and traffic. Let's say, Walmart attracts 200,00 visitors a month, if you build a car wash service right in front of it, you'll get Walmart traffic, right? That's the same idea with guest posting.
At the very least, I would be active on YouTube and Instagram. I know there are a lot of personal trainers on YouTube that use YouTube to generate leads for their business.
