How Can I Get More Visitors/Sales To My Site?

I just started a website about a week ago and have alot of questions. I was hoping you veterans could help.

So far, in 9 days, I've had 571 unique visitors. Is that good?
I have not had a single sale yet. I know that's not good, but is that normal?

I have a facebook page with about 200 fans (mostly friends) and a twitter page with about 20 followers(mostly not friends)

I have spent about $155 on google adwords, which does send quite a few customers and over 100k impressions, but the CTR is low around %0.09

How can I get more customers to come to the page? What is a good number? What is a reasonable time frame to expect this number?

Choose keywords for your site and do seo, then make your site the first page of google. This is the best way.

 

You can using mailing list to store up your prospects email, offer them a product that can gain trust for you, use autoresponder to get in touch with your prospects, slowly you will see the result

 

Posting your link is not going to help you out.
Just advertise your site at the right places if you want to get traffic.
Directory submissions should be good for you as well as using link in your signature at different forums.

Write 50 articles and submit them to 50 article directories.

I suggest 100% unique articles that actually GET people to step 2 which is "going to your site".

 

Getting sales and traffic is not easy in this era atleast . TO get huge sales you need to target and reach only the niche market.

Don't bother running out to those who may need your product but reach out to those who really needs your product.

I think there can't be any easy and straight answer to your question.

You can make a blog, work on on-site seo. I am sure that would help you in the long run.

Yes, you are doing something wrong. Stop advertising, promoting until you fix your site.

In addition to that, traffic from social network sites are God awful when it comes to getting them to buy something. They will click on your link out of curiosity, boredom.

And forget Twitter.

There is part of your problem right there.

 

Disregard that advice - your site is OK, you are just getting the kind of people to your site that do not want to purchase what you have to offer.
Stop your adwords campaign and take a second look on where you can promote your stuff and what kind of traffic to you want to buy.

It is possible that your adwords ads are too general - try making them very specific.
For example, instead of showing an ad when someone searches for "Eminem" show an ad when they search "Buy Eminem latest CD".

Well with 500 visitors,you should have had some sales. I would suggest making sure your sales copy is great and that you are driving targeted traffic. If either one is not true, you will make little to no sales.

Uhhhh, financialjesus, when a webmaster doesn't get even 1 sale out of 500 visitors, that's a clue.

Instead of Adword, spend your money to optimize your website. Do onepage & offpage SEO for that. Run backlink building campaign. With in a few days/week you will get targeted traffic which will be turn your buyer.
