Can anybody help me to break this vicious circle ? i will give rep to all good answers Thanks Note: my job on dp forums is great, i'm getting good responses from dp clients but i want to get more jobs on getafreelancer.com note 2: i'm not sure that this forum is the true place to open this thread. if i'm wrong , i'm sorry
First of all you need to create an impressive profile, shower up your talent, write in detail what you can do, since many employers look for profiles before hiring in. Take smaller projects initially and gain reviews, as soon as you receive 4-5 stars people will automatically send offers. Moreover, subscribe to the email feed coz whenever there's a job posted in your niche you get intimated, and you could bid much faster. I hope that helps. Let me know if you require any other stuff about GAF!
search for jobs with little bids from other providers, and see if you can win one, breaking the ice is very important as said above too.
you may need to offer yourself free / real cheap to get that feedback. This will also allow you to get a good profile up with lots of 'previoud work' stuff.
be the first to bid, send them a message with a sample of your work ... I had 1 development project, where the guy had a working prototype up in running in a matter of hours ... (it was a basic script) needless to say he got the project Like what was said previously, bid on a easy project or a project no one wants do it just for the review good luck
Make an impressive profile with links to your past work. Tell them what you have done and what you can do regarding their project. You may even consider doing the initial jobs at a low rate just to get some feedback. By the way, what kinda jobs/projects are you looking for?
That was my question also, what kind of work or projects are you looking for? I am preparing descriptions to submit for freelance bids now on a couple of jobs I wanted done (a website, and a logo). I have more projects in the planning stages that I will be getting freelancer bids on also. Cary
Well, there ya go. If you are getting DP clients and have a following, maybe you should advertise here but ask the job be sourced through GaF. I would ask also, what do you do?
From my own experience: - Start with small projects, there's far more chance of being chosen, as the buyer doesn't have as much to lose - Offer the first 1-2 small projects for free/very cheap - Ensure you send the buyer a PM containing details of what you can provide after bidding - Send the buyer a prototype of the project before they choose a bidder, ASAP - Have a detailed profile, stating your specialities and past experience
I suggest you sign up with scriptlance, comparatively i get receive more offers than GAF and even the activity seems to be high.
You could try and get existing clients to register via getfreelancer.com and so that they pay you through that and rate you through that.
thanks for all answer. i'm looking for php coding jobs. i'm a php coder with 3 years experience. i'm also developing extensions for joomla. i'm also looking for small asp.net jobs. i have 7 months experience with c# & asp.net
I suggest you make a good portfolio of yours and add it to your GAF profile. You see it takes time to get a good reputation in any freelancing site, so make sure you place your bid on all the jobs that come up in your niche. Let me know if you need any more help about GAF or scriptlance. PS: guru dot com also has some good activity, try that too!
even i dont get enuff jobs from getafreelancer however there are many projects everyday sometimes its frustrating hey do you guys know anyway to find someone in getafreelence i mean there email so we can contact directly? Many thanks
GAF allows buyers to post projects meant only for "new" providers. This includes the ones who haven't won a project yet. Look out for these projects and start bidding. If you are good at what you do, and have built yourself an impressive profile, you will win one of these. It is a lot easier once the ball starts rolling. It would also help if you can add one or two "testimonials" from your previous clients (outside GAF) in your profile. It is not against the TOS, and goes a long way in impressing prospective clients. Hope that helped.
Hi there, I am newly registered on GAFL, but I have already completed a few jobs. The trick is selling yourself. My bids have been above that of others (I don't work cheap - I consider myself a very good public relations consultant and have been writing press releases for many, many years. I charge $80 per release, cheap, but expensive for people on this site). I've got the contracts because of the way I've presented myself, as a qualified and professional person with experience in my specialty.
