when you say 'get listed' in ask.com ...do you mean in their search engine?
you could try having an rss feed for your website and submitting it to bloglines.. bloglines is owned by ask.com...hopefully they would pick up your website through this...

    http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=

After the "=" sign enter the full URL to your XML sitemap and paste it into your browser address bar and go. Ask.com will provide details whether the submission was successful or not. More details are at the link I posted previously...

You should submit a sitemap and you should build more backlinks. If you have enough quality backlinks you will get indexed by all the major search engines.

Submit a sitemap, and not just the first general thing you find on the net, but be careful with the sitemap. If the site is dynamically changing you may want to find a sitemap that is dynamically changing together with the site so the crawlers can really access everything. The one you submit in the begining is just for a start, to get faster indexed.

If site is listed in yahoo and google sooner or later it will show up if it has enough links to it.

Make sure you get a few strong backlinks and you should not have any problems. ASK will eventually pick it up.

I read somewhere that Ask were not going to exist for much longer?

Maybe I read the article wrong, are they merging with a larger search engine?

I haven't managed to submit my url to ask.com yet so I'll try the links above, thanks. :)
