When we type a word in Google for Search first it searches for the Site containing that word in the sites google had indexed displays the site which is well indexed in google. So that might be the reason why google had shown you the page

It depends on what programming language you are using to develop the Search Engine, you could for example use PHP's Get function to get variables from the URL e.g. http://domain.com/file.php?search=search input

Then that URL could theoretically be indexed in Google (if you provide a link to it) Google crawls links so it won't be able to crawl a theoretical search.

It is just a matter of building up enough backlinks to your website and linking to all of your search results in some type of dynamicaly generated sitemap.
