I'm sure this is asked all the time? I searched & couldn't find a straight answer in the forums. How can I get my site/blog to show Google-SiteLinks, in the Google SERPs? Is it based on PageRank, Site-Navigation? If this is already covered in the forums anyone have links? Thanks,
You can get sitelink by done quality backlinks and quality content altogether for a years, aged domain is another key. You may consider reading these comprehensive sources for more details. How to Get Google Sitelinks » by Jonathan Hochman Google Sitelinks: The Ultimate FAQ
Google site links are automated by Google, and have to with the websites navigation structure. I have site links on SearchBliss and the links that show are manly from my main navigation bar that shows on every page of my site...but one link is not.
I kinda thought that Navigation/links might have something to do with Google-Sitelinks. I've been looking thru the SERPs at random sites, then when I follow the links, most have the same anchor text links in the navigation as that SERP link, that I followed. I noticed Wikipedia has a lot of site links in the SERPs, most of those look like Google picked them at random? One of those links that Sxperm posted says something about anchor text pointing back to the Index page, might help (lots of links spread out over your site).
In 2005 Google started experimenting with an enhanced listing in their natural search results that can increase a site's visibility and reputation, and provide more traffic. For a long time we didn't know what to call these deluxe listings, but now we do. On September 7, 2006, Google's sitemap guru, Vanessa Fox, wrote a blog entry titled Information about Sitelinks. She explained that Sitelinks are generated automatically, and that Sitelinks are designed to provide searchers with more valuable search results. Fox also said that Google will be expanding the Sitelinks program. Since then we've been getting many questions from webmaster interested to know how they can get a Sitelinks listing. Here's an example of a Sitelinks listing. On a Google search for the keyword "IntelliTrack," beneath the main search result, we see links to various areas of the IntelliTrack web site. This would help a searcher in two ways: they can get a better understanding of what the site is about before they visit, and they can take a shortcut from Google to the topic that interests them.: IntelliTrack search result
Thanks for the copy/paste [wink]... Anything that Vanessa says is just hot air, she never just comes out & answers ?'s, just beats around the bush, lol...
Yeah, but people ignore the real answer and come up with their own take. Traffic does matter. Google traffic. You must be a highly trusted site, already ranking high, and no bounce back, etc., for a long time. For small niche search queries, some sites that don't fit all that criteria may show up. But forget all this. Google is already looking at html5 and microdata. Stephen C
In most cases, the top Google ranking websites which have solid records for a long time, like remaining there for months would gain the links. Of course one matter which is important in here is about the presence of contents since the links usually are connected to the content pages of the sites or the major resources accessed a lot.
You first have to show Google that you have a consistent source of traffic to your website and you are important enough to have that on Google pages. l would email them to clarify just to be sure that you can apply for it.
I think a lot of people believe google sells the top spot. But that would be absolutely against their credo. Even the ads that appear on top cannot be bought. Some searches don't even have them. They must be a long, trusted advertiser that, again, does not send visitors back to the search results. Over time your site is judged on how well visitors treat it by clicking and staying. Stephen C
"I think a lot of people believe google sells the top spot." OFF TOPIC "Even the ads that appear on top cannot be bought." YES THE ADS ARE BOUGHT, THROUGH GOOGLE ADWORDS "Some searches don't even have them." HAVE WHAT? ADS OR SITE LINKS??? "They must be a long, trusted advertiser that, again, does not send visitors back to the search results. Over time your site is judged on how well visitors treat it by clicking and staying." OFF TOPIC AGAIN, OR YOU ARE JUST REALLY CONFUSED.
That's funny. I think you are confused or just one of those people that do not read a WHOLE thread before posting. Perhaps you missed this reply: (Note the topic I was answering to?) See how top sites and applying for it got in this thread? Like all threads. They morph. No hate needed. I guess all those others were "on topic." Sure. As far as google "selling" the top spot, and I'm talking about the 3 ads that may appear above the search results, of course you must be an adwords customer. But you cannot bid and get there. That's my point. You can't "buy" a top spot of those 3. Those are picked via an algorithm. http://adwords.google.com/support/aw/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=6546 I don't know where all the hate came from. Stephen C
site structure would be the key, those links are sub pages of the site if those pages gives quality content and play vital rule on the site google would allow it.
