Twitter & Facebook are a good idea. Just promote yourself on there. Mostly, you just need to do some solid SEO and come up on the first page of Google, Yahoo & Bing for keywords relating to your site. Depending on your budget, you can start with social bookmarking, articles, blog/forum comments and blogroll links on related sites.
Use contests to promote your website. Offer a large prize and then encourage anyone participating to refer their friends. Offer another prize for their friend in order to discourage any conflicts of interest.

Hi Teo, I realise your post was quite some time ago but I'm curious to know if you ever got to increase the traffic to your Website. I read all the response and I agree with most of them solid SEO techniques, articles, forums, press releases etc. These techniques last. I would also like to add that targeted traffic to your Website niche would be best. A subscription form on your Website would also be a way of retaining some of your visitors, if you don't already have one. And of course if the finance is there, PPC or PPV advertising would bring you tons of targeted visitors very fast. You've probably already done some or all or these things as I note your original post was over a year ago. However, what really interest me was the advice given to you by "Daniel Boone". Having 100 or so articles written for you, and then posted to 150 article directories by someone who eles. Did you use that method? if so, did it work? I would love to know thanks. I am at the early stage with my own business, starting to build up links and using the many SEO techniques required. So where do you brought the traffic and did you got the traffic through ranking #1 in search engine or you got traffic for that article directories.. What was your website, is it just one page with lead capture or it was a blog.. if it was blog need to bring traffic to your home page or to the money page.. I like you plan and yeah it hard work but 30 days hard works is worth to get that much of subscribers... Using that plan can I bring traffic to any page I like.. I am waiting for your reply.. Bring Traffic and maintain that is important...don't just bring traffic bring quality and targeted traffic which will increase your conversion. Thanks Alam
There are number of methods available for your site promoting.. Book marking, Blog Commenting, Article Submission, Directory Submission, Link exchange with relevant sites. etc... Also check whether your website is following all the guidelines of SEO.Try to promote your site in sites that are relevant to your websites content, which in turn brings you quality back links...Best of luck

There are so many ways, I would stick to a specific objective and master that technique, seo, copywriting, social networking. I know some people may say don't put all your eggs in one basket with this, however i see staying focused on one particular area until you see reasonable results.
